There are sessions that stay with you—and then there are families who do. I’ve had the absolute joy of documenting so many milestones for the Flor family over the past couple of years, and welcoming baby Joseph (JoJo) for his newborn session was such a full-circle moment.

Sam and Michaela have built a home full of love, warmth, and intentionality—and being invited back to capture it again as their family grows is one of the greatest honors of my work. Their newborn session took place in their cozy Missoula home, with big brother Ben and their lovable golden retriever Murphy right there in the mix. It was the kind of morning that felt peaceful, joyful, and so full of meaning.

A Family Story Worth Telling

This wasn’t the first time I photographed a newborn for the Flors. Last fall, I got to document Ben’s newborns followed by his adoption announcement—a milestone moment as they officially welcomed him into their family. Since then, I’ve photographed their pregnancy announcement, maternity session, and now, their newest arrival.

Walking through these chapters with them has been such a gift. And one of the sweetest moments during JoJo’s session was seeing all the photos we’ve taken together printed and framed on their walls. From that very first shoot to now, their home has become a gallery of love—and it reminded me why what we do matters so much.

There’s something special about photographing newborns in the comfort of home. No rushed packing, no harsh studio lights—just soft windows, cozy blankets, and the familiar rhythms of everyday life. For the Flors, this was the perfect setting.

JoJo was snuggled and adored from the very beginning. Ben was curious and gentle, already stepping into his role as big brother with such sweetness. And Murphy, their golden retriever, made a few perfect appearances—adding his own brand of golden energy and calm.

We kept things relaxed and natural. Cuddles on the couch, baby stretches on mom and dad’s bed, and quiet moments between. These lifestyle sessions aren’t about perfection—they’re about presence. And this family lives so fully in that.
