Expecting a little one or already soaking in those early newborn days? This time is going to fly by, so let’s make sure to document it! That way you will be able to look back and remember how cute you looked with that baby bump (even if it doesn’t feel that way now) and be reminded of just how tiny your little newborn really was. Hey, I'm Kira!
Here is just a little bit about why I care...
I've always had a special place in my heart for kids. Growing up as an oldest child I was always the go-to babysitter for the community and I have to admit, I loved it! I have always jumped at every chance to hold a sweet little babe and now I get to nanny for 1-year-old twins when I’m not taking photos! Watching little ones grow and capturing those sweet moments is something I treasure. I was never the kid who wanted to be in front of the camera, so I can relate to your more reserved little ones and I love to take the time to help bring them out of their shell. Whether it’s cracking jokes with your tween, chasing toddlers around or capturing the tender moments of newborn snuggles, I’m all in. Let’s work together to preserve these precious memories in a way that feels natural and fun—because that’s how you’ll remember it best!

Within 2-4 weeks after your photo session you will receive a digital link to your very own photo gallery. Set aside a few minutes to sit down with your loved ones and enjoy your new memories!
That is totally okay! You are not a professional model, and I know that. It is completely my job to make you look stunning; your job is simply to show up and have fun. I will give you all of the prompts and poses that I need to capture genuine photos of you and your family. If I do my job correctly, you won’t even notice that you didn’t know how to pose.
Once you're booked, I'll send over a detailed wardrobe guide which will guide you through the process of styling your family and you will have access to my curated client closet so you can have that dream outfit without worrying about shopping for it!
It’s completely normal for kids to have moments where they’re not in the mood, and I expect that! I’m experienced in working with children, and I have plenty of fun prompts and games to help them relax and enjoy the process.
The best light is generally during the 2-hours after sunrise and before sunset, however I can work with just about any light. I know that these times are not always the best for your kids, so focus on when they will be happiest. If our session is outdoors, I recommend shying away from times when the sun will be high in the sky (11am-2pm ish depending on the season).
Your location is entirely up to you. I always recommend picking a place that is meaningful to you or your family, but I will also share a guide with lots of great locations around Missoula. I also always love in-home sessions where your family is in their natural environment and more comfortable than anywhere else.
Your home doesn’t need to be spotless to get great pictures. Just pick up the major things from the locations in your house that you are hoping to shoot. I will move things around as needed during our session, so just clean up the general content.
Yes! I do charge a bit extra for sessions more than 25 miles away just to cover gas, but I would love to photograph in a location that is meaningful to you, so don’t be afraid to dream big.
If our session is outdoors and it rains or snows day-of, don’t worry. You can reschedule your session once if the circumstances would result in a bad situation for your photoshoot. Keep checking the weather leading up to your session and if it still looks like it will rain 24-hours in advance, contact me and we will find a better day. If you still want to take your photos on that day, we can always switch to an in-home session, just let me know about the change 24-hours before our photoshoot.
If there is something meaningful to you that you can’t imagine doing a session without, I would love to incorporate it into a few of your photos. That being said, I would love some warning about any props you may bring, so make sure to mention that while planning your session. Things like blankets and fun family activities are always welcome!
Absolutely! I love having pets join portrait sessions, especially if they feel like members of your family. Just make sure to let me know ahead of time if a furry family member will be joining us! Some locations have restrictions when it comes to pets, so keep that in mind when picking your location.
If you are bringing a pet, they will probably only be in some of your photos, so I strongly suggest bringing another friend or family member that they are comfortable with to hang out with them during the times that they are not modeling. This will help you be able to focus on the session without trying to multitask and worry about your pet.
After our session, I will spend 2 weeks choosing and editing the photos to deliver to you!
