I still remember unwrapping my very first “real” camera on my sixteenth birthday and holding it like it contained a secret. From that moment on, I’ve been quietly watching people, listening to the way they laugh, noticing how your love squeezes your hand, or the way a couple’s eyes meet across a crowded room. Those little details are why I became a photographer.
I don’t believe your relationship is made up of just the big milestones. It lives in the everyday moments too. Within 2-4 weeks after your photo session you will receive a digital link to your very own photo gallery. Set aside a few minutes to sit down with your loved ones and enjoy your new memories!
That is totally okay! You are not a professional model, and I know that. It is completely my job to make you look stunning; your job is simply to show up and have fun. I will give you all of the prompts and poses that I need to capture genuine photos of you and your love. If I do my job correctly, you won’t even notice that you didn’t know how to pose.
Once you're booked, I'll send over a detailed wardrobe guide which will guide you through the process of styling and you will have access to my curated client closet so you can have that dream outfit without worrying about shopping for it!
The best light is generally during the 2-hours after sunrise and before sunset, however I can work with just about any light. If our session is outdoors, I recommend shying away from times when the sun will be high in the sky (11am-2pm ish depending on the season).
Your location is entirely up to you. I always recommend picking a place that is meaningful to you or your relationship, but I will also share a guide with lots of great locations around Winston-Salem.
Yes! I do charge a bit extra for sessions more than 25 miles away just to cover gas, but I would love to photograph in a location that is meaningful to you, so don’t be afraid to dream big.
If our session is outdoors and it rains or snows day-of, don’t worry. You can reschedule your session once if the circumstances would result in a bad situation for your photoshoot. Keep checking the weather leading up to your session and if it still looks like it will rain 24-hours in advance, contact me and we will find a better day. If you still want to take your photos on that day, we can always switch to an in-home session, just let me know about the change 24-hours before our photoshoot.
If there is something meaningful to you that you can’t imagine doing a session without, I would love to incorporate it into a few of your photos. That being said, I would love some warning about any props you may bring, so make sure to mention that while planning your session. Things like blankets and fun activities are always welcome!
Absolutely! I love having pets join portrait sessions, especially if they feel like members of your family. Just make sure to let me know ahead of time if a furry family member will be joining us! Some locations have restrictions when it comes to pets, so keep that in mind when picking your location.
If you are bringing a pet, they will probably only be in some of your photos, so I strongly suggest bringing another friend or family member that they are comfortable with to hang out with them during the times that they are not modeling. This will help you be able to focus on the session without trying to multitask and worry about your pet.
After our session, I will spend 2 weeks choosing and editing the photos to deliver to you!
