I’m the girl you’ll find in the corner ninety percent of the time, people watching. When I received my first professional camera on my sixteenth birthday, I started people watching through its lens and I haven’t stopped since. I fell in love with the way photography can eternalize a moment and celebrate your love.
Do you remember that feeling you get when you look at a photo of your grandparents when they were young? You know how you can just feel the familiar love that you still see in their eyes? How when you look at that picture, it’s like no time has passed at all? That is what I do.
Even if your connection seems mundane in the moment, I promise you that your kids, grandkids, and even great-grandkids will be in awe of the way you look at each other: the way your hands graze each other as you scoop peas onto your son’s plate at dinner, how you secretly smile at your husband when he plays dress-ups with your daughter, the butterflies you still get when he wraps his hand around your waist for the thousandth time.
It is those moments that I commemorate. The ones you don’t even see because they happen on a daily basis, but one day, when you are showing your granddaughter a photo from fifty years ago when you had three kids under five and couldn’t think about anything except the next task at hand, then you will see it and remember.
